Many couples just do not have that kind of money to spend on their wedding; there are many ways to save money just by clever planning, if you want a cheap wedding. However, sometimes all that is needed is some help with the planning to help lower that total; ideas that could help you achieve your dream day for less;
Cheap Bridal Gown
Of course every bride wants a designed, hand made wedding dress; this is very expensive but savings can be made, especially if using a previously owned dress is considered. It is easy to buy a wedding dress that has only been worn once for less than half the price; many stores have begun to supply dresses this way, often hiring them just for the day.
Wedding Reception Preparations
The bulk of the budget will be swallowed up by the wedding reception; when you start to arrange your cheap wedding, pay careful attention to the number of guests you want to invite. There is a tendency to invite everyone you have ever known or is a member of the family but this is completely unrealistic and unnecessary; if you have a buffet instead of a four course meal, waiting staff will not be required either.
If you intend holding the wedding reception in an expensive hotel then stop and look at the available options; consider holding it at a club perhaps or even book a restaurant where you can keep an open bar to a minimum by only serving beer, wine and soft drinks.
Wedding Pictures
The obvious choice is to shop around for the best rates, but look at hiring the photographer just for the service; ask family members and friends to take photos of the reception – most will be more than happy to do this. Although it may sound like an unusual idea, you always have the option to not use a professional photographer at all; there is no reason why the photos can't be taken by your guests and you will find yourself saving many hundreds if not thousands, of dollars.
Home Made Contemporary Invitations
Cutting down on costs can also mean creating your own wedding invitations and seating cards etc; a personal computer combined with a home printer means it is quite easy to produce very professional looking results. You may not feel comfortable using your home computer at first but this is a very productive use of your time; adjustments and corrections to suit your requirements can be made without any visits to the printers.
The Wedding Flower Arrangements
If you want to reduce the cost of flowers, then how about this for an option; why not visit the local flower wholesaler where huge savings are possible, then all that's needed is a little imagination when it comes to the display. There is no reason why a friend or relative can't bake the wedding cake; this will save more money plus the traditional fruit cake does not have to be used as there are many other fillings that people enjoy.
The Wedding Limousine
Although it is nice to have a luxury limousine to transport you to the wedding, a friend's car can be just as special but at less cost; they will probably jump at the chance.
Many young couples want to save money for a home of their own; saving money by having a cheap wedding can be a big help!
